Anthony Reeve risks life and limb pretending to polish The Nine Muses removed from The Barbican (later sold to an amphitheatre in South Africa). The other broadsheets ran pictures of the tight-rope walkers crossing the Thames on a high-wire - The Independent knew where the action was though (n.b last day of their old masthead).
