May Bank Holiday Opening

LASSCO Brunswick House and LASSCO St. Michael's will be open for business on Saturday 29th April but closed for the Bank Holiday Monday.

Normal opening hours will resume Tuesday 2nd May.

LAPADA Show at The Royal Academy 4th - 7th May 2006

LASSCO doesn't generally do antique fairs. With our two fabulous central London shops crammed full of large and heavy items we're not sure we need to.
However, having just bught a fabulous set of huge carved stone plaques that were carved in the 1950's by the then President of the Royal Academy, Sir Charles Wheeler and LAPADA just having secured the Royal Academy's Burlington Gardens building for their new venue... how could we resist?
It promises to be quite an event. LAPADA are making a bid to make a big impact in the fairs calender. LASSCO will be taking the monumental Dorchester House Bookcase, the Robert Adam Fireplace and a large stained glass window along with many other notable items. It is only at this stage that we have discovered that the Wheeler carvings, at three-quarters of a ton each, are simply too big to get in the building! We are taking some of the smaller ones though.

LASSCO Brunswick House - A Year On!

One year on and the transformation from derelict squat to its current status is profound.

Work continues, with scaffolding now obscuring the facade to allow for further restoration, but we are sure you'll agree that the interior, now decorated and bedecked with our colourful and varied stock, is both inviting and intriguing.

Twice now, the photographer, James Mortimer, has captured for posterity the interior of Brunswick House: once as it stood in December 2004, and now. We hope he will continue to chart the restoration and progress of this historic, landmark building.
